This 3-Day Intense Intelligence Analyst Boot Camp gives you the opportunity to receive Intelligence Analyst Training to give you the critical skills to work as an Intelligence Analyst in the Intelligence Community (IC).  Receive training from Intelligence Analysts who have worked in the IC.

This Analytic Tradecraft Bootcamp highlights practical skills and hands-on exercises. Participants will receive training and then respond to realistic national security scenarios as teams, and then discuss outcomes with the instructors. Following the successful completion of the bootcamp, participants gain a foundational understanding of intelligence and structured analytic techniques along with experience employing the bottom-line up-front (BLUF) method to convey key insights identified through data structuring and analysis.

 

Components of the training:

 

Introduction to Analysis

An overview of intelligence: what it is and how it is used to form national policy.  This course is designed to give participants a broad foundation in the types of intelligence, the primary sources (the INTs), and the analysis cycle, focusing primarily on operational intelligence.

 

Structuring Data

How to identify commonalties in disparate information to organize for cooperative analysis. This course is designed to introduce participants to the parts of a data structure, simple and complex schemas, and techniques to leverage multi-faceted datasets to enable analysis.

 

Structured Analytic Techniques

How to use a deliberate approach to avoid cognitive biases. This course is designed to introduce participants to Richards J. Heuer’s work on structured methods to externalize thought, deconstruct problems, detect assumptions, identify variables, evaluate evidence, and test hypotheses.

 

Writing & Briefing

How to communicate in bottom-line-up-front (BLUF) method. This course is designed to introduce participants to the style and format of intelligence writing, including tips for writing from the inside out and crafting slides for effective briefings.
